Depart in the early morning and set out towards BAN NAMMANG, a traditional Khmu village, where the group is joined by a village-based guide. Ascend through rice fields, into the protected forest area and along a mountain ridge, called PHOU MOT or Ant Mountain by the locals. This area attracts many different birds with its plentiful fig trees.
In the afternoon, continu the KU VIENG, the ruins of an ancient city believed to be 400 years old, exploring the old temple area (WAT MAHAPOT) and the ruined city walls.
