ARRIVAL MEDAN – BERASTAGI (-/-/-)
Arrive at Medan and city tour to Visit the sultanate palace of Malay Deli – Maimoon and historical mosque Al-Mashum. Then Drive to the cool and pleasant highland town of Berastagi passing by winding road with lovely country side. Before check in at hotel stop and wander around the local fruit market.

BERASTAGI - LAKE TOBA/SAMOSIR ISLAND (Petit déjeuner/Déjeuner/-)
Breakfast at the hotel
Scenic drive to Lake Toba one of the deepest and largest crater lakes in the world with stop at Dokan, a Karo village with number of traditional houses, still being used where eight families live in together in each house. Next visit to Sipiso piso waterfall and the long house of King Simalungun, Arrive at Parapat, a little town on the shore of Lake Toba and cross onboard to Samosir Island where you will stay for two nights.

SAMOSIR EXCURSION (Petit déjeuner/Déjeuner/-)
Breakfast at the hotel
Full day excursion to visit Ambarita where the remnant megalithic culture of Batak Toba lies in front of traditional houses, then visit Simanindo to see folkdance performed by the villagers and children learning in school. Lunch provide en route. On returning to hotel, visit Tomok village with its historical old tombs of Batak King.

SAMOSIR ISLAND – SIPIROK / PADANG SIDEMPUAN (Petit déjeuner/Déjeuner/-)

Across the lake to Parapat and drive up to Sipirok/Padang Sidempuan with view on marching mountains “Bukit Barisan” stops will be made at Lumban Binanga, a typical Batak village, pineapple farm, market place in Balige and sulphur hot springs.

The journey is rather long but worthwhile to exhibits the inner part of Sumatera. The scenery of mountains, rivers, valleys and traditional villages will relieve you from weariness. Stop to see Sijornih waterfall, Sihepeng botanical garden, Moslem school and Bonjo; where a monument marks the equator.

City sightseeing to the clock tower “Jam Gadang” which overlooks the colorful market pasar atas, Dutch fort called De Kock, Sianok valley and Pandai Sikat, a village famous for its hand weaving and wood carving. Drive further to Padang Panjang, a site which will show you how the real traditional houses in west Sumatera looked like in centuries back. In the afternoon back to Bukittinggi with stop at Sungai Tarab with the coffee mills powered by flowing water (activity subject to availability).
