Itinéraire (Surabaya – Bromo – Malang – Blitar - Yogyakarta)

Driving from Surabaya to Bromo that is inhabited by the Tenggerese, one of the few significant Hindu communities left on the island of Java. Malang with their agro tourism and Blitar you will visit the hugely popular tomb of the first president of Indonesia “Soekarno”. Drive to Yogyakarta is the cultural heart of Indonesia and about 40 kilometers away of the mighty Borobodur palace. Borobodur is the world largest Buddhist monument, even for an experienced travel the Borobodur still shows it might. In the middle of the city is the old sultan palace.

SURABAYA – BROMO (-/-/-)
Arrival at Juanda International airport Surabaya, and you will be met and than transfer to Bromo. On the way we’ll passing rice fields and sugar cane fields and stop at Pasuruan to view its colorful fishing village and salt refinery. And then free program for the rest of the evening.

BROMO – MALANG - BLITAR (Petit déjeuner/-/-)
Morning call at 04.00 am and coffee break then drive to Mt. Pananjakan (2770 M) a viewing point to get the best view of Mt. Bromo and experience chilly winds while you witness the most impressive or spectacular sunrise in the world (subject to the weather condition). Afterwards drive down to Mt. Bromo crossing the sea of sand. From here we will change ride to a local pony to the foot of Mt. Bromo, and walk up the 245 steps straight up to the rim of the mountain and experience the great view from top. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Free at leisure till your time drive you to Batu through Nongkodjajar and visit agro apple plantation and flower nursery at Kusuma Agro Wisata, Afterwards drive to Blitar for your accommodation.

BLITAR – YOGYAKARTA: PRAMBANAN (Petit déjeuner/-/-)
After breakfast at hotel, morning visit the Soekarno Tomb, the legendary first President and proclamation of Indonesia’s independence, where he was continue buried and paid tribute until this very day.
Drive to the Hindu temple at Penataran, the largest impact of the Majapahit Kingdoms was it’s fine Architecture and Sculpture, we are still able to enjoy some of it along the route.
Proceed to Yogyakarta, upon arrival in Jogjakarta in the afternoon, directly drive and visit Prambanan built in the 9th. The complex consists of 4 major temples/shrines, such as Candi Shiva Mahadeva, Candi Brahma and Candi Vishnu, Candi Nandi as well as the Candi Sewu.
The Ramayana story is carved into the walls of the temples. Enough time is given to stroll around and to observe the beautiful carvings.

YOGYAKARATA: CITY TOUR – BOROBUDUR (Petit déjeuner/-/-)

After breakfast visit the Sultan Palace, located in the heart of the old city; the huge palace of the sultans of Yogyakarta was effectively the centre of a small walled city within the city. Over 25,000 people live within the greater Kraton compound, which contains its own market, shops, batik and silver cottage industries, schools and mosques.
Afterwards, continue to visit Borobodur. Looming out of a patchwork of bottle-green paddies and swaying palm tops, this colossal Buddhist relic is one of the continent’s marvels. After the decline of Buddhism and the shift of power to East Java, the monument was abandoned soon after its completion.
For centuries the complex lay forgotten, buried under layers of volcanic ash. Climb up to the top and enjoy a wonderful view on the Menoreh mountains. Enough time is given to stroll around the complex and to discover its beauty.
Afterwards continue to visit the nearby located temples such as Candi Pawon, Mendut.
